Embracing the Journey: My Artistic Story

My experience as an artist has been one that is both exciting and uncertain. I've always found comfort in drawing, but I didn't rediscover my passion of painting until high school. I discovered my love for painting while majoring in art in college and realized that painting was the one form of expression that genuinely spoke to me. 

But like many aspiring artists, I never imagined I could support myself through my hobby, so I decided to pursue a profession as an English teacher in South Korea. I was frequently reminded when teaching how important it is to accept mistakes and learn from them; I now apply this lesson to my own artistic journey.

In my portrait paintings, I try to portray both the distinct personality of my subjects and the vibrancy of color. I utilize the alla prima and impasto techniques to produce colorful and expressive works of art that are inspired by the everyday people and events in my life. 

My goal is to encourage people to follow their passions, no matter how difficult or unknown the path may seem to be. I want to create a community of artists and art enthusiasts that can support and inspire one another in their individual artistic endeavors through my blog and social media.
